When the flowers start to bloom and the days are longer what comes to your mind? Of course, springtime.
Along with the fuzzy feeling of spring starting comes the long list of spring cleaning chores and the deep cleaning that comes with this time of year. No one is ever really excited to them, but we are looking forward to completing them since it means warmer weather and fun times to be enjoyed outside.
So, do you become overwhelmed or excited when you think about the start of spring? Well, we don’t want you to become overwhelmed so here we will focus on the most fun parts of spring which include decorating your farmhouse and considering farmhouse design for this beautiful season.
Farmhouse Family Room For Spring
Most of the time when you think of a farmhouse you may think of using mostly neutral colors in decorating. However, a modern farmhouse can be defined with clean lines and a pop or two of color.
The most important element to remember to keep true to the interior design elements of farmhouse style is you want to make sure you have a mix of old and new.
To add a pop of color incorporate a new Dash and Albert Rug to brighten up the room and add not only texture but also bold colors. When partnered with some fresh wall art, modern light fixtures, and a natural wood coffee table, your living room space can refine that country style you’re going for.
Accent pillows are also a great way to bring more color into the room. Throw pillows can be easily stored and changed out depending on the season. Likewise, open shelving can be used to display home decor accents to bring a room together.
Spring Front Porch Decorating Ideas
On a small front porch, fresh flowers always add a nice curb appeal to any front entrance. Make a nice first impression of your home by hanging a spring wreath or quirky welcome mat.
One of my favorite things to do in the spring is sitting on my front porch. Add some ambiance by using lanterns and hanging baskets or planter pots to your steps or near your front door.
Depending on where you live this is also a great opportunity to add some outdoor wicker furniture or a fun Fermob hanging chair to breathe life into your front porch. Finish the look off by adding an outdoor rug to complement the rest of your outdoor decor. As we all know, a nice area rug can be a fantastic way to tie a space together nicely.
Sprucing up your kitchen for spring
Adding small spring touches to your kitchen will go a long way. If you enjoy gardening a great idea might be to start an herb garden in your kitchen. This can help remind you to eat healthily as well as add a spice of decoration and color to your countertop.
Once the weather becomes warm enough you can move your herbs outside. Using decorative flower pots or even small galvanized buckets will definitely add to the farmhouse look in your kitchen.
Try this! If you use hand soap in your kitchen using scents such as lemon or grapefruit will also add a touch of spring to your kitchen.
Spring Decorating For The Bedroom
Stay warm but not too warm with a farmhouse duvet cover or matelasse coverlet. Dressing your bed with colorful but light linens will not only make your room feel like spring but give your bedroom a fresh look.
Put either fresh flowers or bright artificial flowers on your nightstand and open the blinds all the way up. Letting the sunlight in will not only brighten your room but your mood as well!
The nice part of decorating your home for spring is you will always have the items you purchased this year for next year. Every year you can add to make your home reflect the way you feel about spring.
