How to Prepare for Spring Cleaning

Spring has Sprung!

When I hear the birds chirping, and notice the days are getting longer I get anxious for my favorite season. Spring! When spring comes so does, gardening, long walks, and of course spring cleaning. Even though I love spring, I dread taking a Saturday off just to do some good ole cleaning. To prepare I start a to-do list.  It's also a good time to look for some new outdoor patio furniture.  It can take 8-12 weeks to special order if the colors you prefer are not in-stock.

Writing a to-do list helps me to not become overwhelmed with everything that needs to be accomplished. Washing the baseboards, organizing the pantry, and washing the windows are a few things on my to-do list. I put on my favorite playlist on and get to work. Why not clean out your closet and start a donate pile, or launder throw pillows and blankets. The list can go on and on. Spring cleaning is a perfect time to replace the batteries in your smoke detector and disinfect your home.

After spending the whole day cleaning it’s time to reward yourself. Treat yourself to a glass of wine or a big piece of chocolate cake. Your family is going to be happy and benefit from your hard work!
