There are so many great things about fall! It is one of my favorite seasons with all of the cozy big sweaters, and scarfs, rain boots, and the aroma of fall scents and warm drinks. What's not to love?

While looking great during this beautiful season is a wonderful feeling there is something even better. Coming home to a decked-out decorated home that compliments this gorgeous season!

This year the fall trend colors that will bring delight are sorbet pink, green, earth tones, shades of grey, and black. The timeless fall patterns such as buffalo check and plaid are always in style. So how can you incorporate these colors and patterns into your home?

The living room is where we spend most of our time. We enjoy watching tv, playing games, and enjoying conversations with our family and friends. Let’s talk about some great ideas to make your living room more inviting and cozy for these great moments.

Comfortable seating is always a plus in the living room, but add another level of comfort by adding a buffalo check throw blanket. Black and white is classic and will go with just about any other color scheme. You can also use buffalo check throw pillows as well.

Another idea to create a fall color scheme is to use fall accessories. Consider adding items like faux fur throws, unique table linens, and decorative pillows to your various living room ideas. Various accessories added to your decor can add just the right pop of color.

Embrace the Natural Magic of the Season

Let the magic of the season spark your creativity! There are a lot of things you can use to decorate with outside. Use leaves, acorns, and other natural elements. If you’ve been growing pumpkins, you might even consider using jack o lanterns or dried pumpkin seeds for a festive and fun accent.
Whatever you choose to add, here’s a pro tip to keep in mind: With bold colors remember to think beyond primary colors and secondary colors. Add light pastel colors to help the bold and pastel complement each other.

Fall Table Decor

The other place that we spend most of our time is in the dining room. With family gathering being a central part of fall a decorated table is a must. Make your dining room special during these occasions by using a table runner, or fun napkins. Add some scented candles, and string lights to add warmth to the room.

Pumpkins are great for use for table decor. Get creative and carve out the middle and add flowers or another fun element for a centerpiece. After your gathering is over, use them outside. Place them on a coffee table or on the stairs along with your favorite fall flower.

A word of caution: Try not to use only 2 colors when decorating. This can sometimes make your decor look boring. Adding a third or fourth color will help to balance out all the colors and make your table arrangement complete.

Which Colors Will You Choose?

It can be overwhelming to figure out what colors you want to decorate. Look around the house and see what items you already have and base you're decorating off those items. Or, choose your favorite color and select complementary colors to decorate with.
