In 2008, add a jolt of color to your home and brighten things up. The hot color will be iris blue. This doesn't mean you should paint your room, but definitely add iris blue accessories such as pillows, throws and vases. Also, this year's hot color combo will be pairing plum with gray.  Gone are sleek living rooms. Instead, go for baroque without going broke. Bring in a mirror that has an oversize carved frame, or look for chairs with swirls and curls to pair up with the sofa you already have. Look for furniture that serves more than one purpose. My favorite is the ottoman that also provides extra storage. Also consider other functional design elements in areas that are often forgotten. Using beautiful storage containers is a simple way to combine function with design.

In 2007, we saw a huge movement toward green products, but 2008 will focus on what "green" means. It is not a look you're after, but an understanding of the effect each product has on the earth.
