We believe in quality and in order to obtain the ultimate piece of furniture you have to start with the frame. Our frames are constructed of 7/8" hardwood. All wood joints are interlocked and glued. Then we glue and nail corner blocks to reinforce the joint. We use a newly designed Drop-In Coil Unit which supplies our sofas with the most luxurious seating ever.
The Sleeper Mechanism has cross wires in the seat and shoulder section to prevent hammocking and help to eliminate crowning. The mattress is a 5 inch 299 coil innerspring available in Queen (Sofa), Full (Townhouse Sofa), and Twin (Loveseat & Chair 1/2). You can also upgrade to an AirDream Mattress. For the most luxurious & comfortable seating, we offer three cushion options. Our STANDARD is wrapped around a 1.8 High Density foam core and comes with a 10 year warranty. We do suggest fluffing and turning of the cushions periodically to enhance the look and life of the cushion. For an additional charge, we offer FEATHER BLEND Cushions which are 1.8 HR Foam surrounded by a an envelope comprised of 50% Utlima Supreme Fiber, 45% Duck Feather, 5% Duck Down. Also available are COMFORT CHIC cushions with 1.8 HR foam but wrapped by a Micro Denier fiber called Trillium encased in a cotton ticking. Trillium is an alternative do down. Washable Slipcovered Fabrics
American Country offers high quality washable slipcovered fabrics. Each fabric is inspected, by hand, for quality before it ever gets close to your furniture. The majority of our fabrics are pre-washed for added softness and for the ability of machine washing. We do however recommend Dry Cleaning to increase the life of your slipcover.
Our fabrics are grouped by grade. Grade 1 is our "price as shown grade" and 8 is our most expensive grade.
Interestingly enough, fabric grade can have little to do with quality and/or durability. Higher fabric grades can be more durable. But, many of our most durable fabrics are grade 1. In many cases, a higher grade fabric has more to do with how it's made versus its quality or durability.
Higher grade fabrics may use more expensive fibers (linen for example) or have intricate patterns. A higher grade fabric is almost always more time consuming to produce. The extra labor needed to mill the fabric has an affect on the price.
Finally, screen resolutions can make the true colors of our fabrics hard to decipher. Go by the color named below the swatch. If it says it's a butter, it's a butter - regardless of what it looks like on a computer screen. If you have additional questions regarding our fabrics, please call us at 800-765-1688.

We also offer many fabrics in Outdura fabrics. These have an (O) after the name of the fabric.
Why is Outdura™better than other fabrics?
Outdura™ is 100% solution-dyed acrylic. In the Solution-Dyed Process, the pigment is added during the fiber production. These fibers are spun into a yarn resulting in permeated color throughout the fabric (like a carrot). In conventional dyeing process, the pigment is applied after the fabric is made. Color is not an integral part of the fabric, making the fabric more prone to fading (like a radish).
Is Outdura™ fabric waterproof?
Outdura™ is not waterproof; it is water-repellent. During the finishing process, a water-repellent finish is applied to the fabric. Normal wear and usage, as well as cleaning of the fabric, will reduce the effectiveness of this finish. If water-repellency becomes a factor after repeated normal use and cleaning, a specialty product may be used to retreat your Outdura™ fabric. Water-repellency treatments are available for purchase at local awning and marine shops.
Do Outdura™ fabrics provide UV protection?
Yes. Depending on color, Outdura™ fabrics have been tested and proven to provide up to 98% UV protection from the harmful effects of the sun. Due to depth of color, darker fabrics may afford more protection than lighter fabrics. This protection is built into the fabric, and will not lessen with usage and/or exposure of the fabric to sun.
Will Outdura™ fabric mildew?
If kept clean, Outdura™ fabrics will not mildew. Based on the characteristics of acrylic fiber, the weave will not support the growth of mildew, whereas a natural fiber will. However, mildew can and will grow on any surface that is dirty, so we recommend keeping your Outdura™ fabric clean.
How often should Outdura™ fabric be cleaned?
Outdura™ fabric should be cleaned regularly to prevent excessive dirt from accumulating.
To Spot Clean: Simply brush off any loose dirt. Use a solution of lukewarm water (not exceeding 100 degrees F) and a mild natural soap such as Lux™ or Ivory™. Rinse thoroughly to remove excess soap and air dry. DO NOT USE DETERGENTS.
For removable covers: Zip all cushion covers. Machine wash in cold water with a mild soap (Lux™ or Ivory™) or bleach on Gentle Cycle, then AIR DRY. DO NOT USE DETERGENTS OR PUT IN DRYER.
